If dust, dirt, fingerprints or scratches distorts the light beam that passes
through the protective coating of the disc, not all of the information can be
relayed back to the player causing skips or blackouts. This problem is reduced
by elaborate correction codes that exist in current players, but the more
scratches on the disc, the greater the chance of reduced picture and sound
quality amongst other problems occurring. |
